Got some general questions about the courses run by the Lifestyle Program? We hope some of your answers are below, if we have something, let us know.
General Questions
Where is the Lifestyle Program operated and how do I get there?
The Lifestyle Program is managed and delivered by UQ Sport Ltd. The UQ Sport Head Office is located at the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus. A majority of courses are operated in UQ Sport Venues including the UQ Sport & Fitness Centre (Union Road, St Lucia) and UQ Athletics Track (Sir William Macgregor Drive, St Lucia). Each downloadable course factsheet specifies the course location, and you can download the UQ Sport Facility Map (PDF) to assist in locating your course.
Can I park on University of Queensland (UQ) Campuses?
Yes, anyone can park on the UQ Campuses. Parking restrictions start on the university grounds at 7am until 9pm. For more details see the UQ Traffic and Parking.
What is the Lifestyle Program refund/cancellation policy?
Please choose carefully. After enrolments have closed, cancellation/refunds or transfers will only be considered in extenuating circumstances. Individual situations will be considered by the Lifestyle Program Coordinator, with the provision of necessary documentation. If a refund is to be issued, it will be the pro-rata balance of classes already conducted less a 15% administration fee. No refunds will be issued if requested after the completion of a Lifestyle Course.
What are the age restrictions for the Lifestyle Program courses?
Minimum age to participate in the Lifestyle Program is 16. Depending on the course and instructor allowances can be made, please contact the Lifestyle Coordinator for further clarification.
Can I participate if I’m not a UQ Student?
The Lifestyle Program is open to everyone. Even though we run all the courses on UQ Campuses, all our programs are open to the general public.
Who is going to be instructing the courses?
All Lifestyle Program instructors are fully qualified and have the appropiate skills and experience to be instructing. Instructor profiles can be found on each course page, visit the instructor profile page for a full list of instructors.
Enrolling
How do I enrol?
The Lifestyle Program has a number of options to enrol in our great courses. You can enrol online or if you are on a UQ Campus, you can come in a see our friendly and helpful staff at the UQ Sport & Fitness Centre, Union Road. Alternatively, you can contact the Program Coordinator or enrol over the phone with a credit card 07 3346 9295.
Can I enrol in course 2 or 3 without doing course 1?
Yes, the course numbers (i.e course 1, course 2, course 3) only reflect the different dates not the level of the course. All Lifestyle Program Courses are beginner unless otherwise stated.
Am I eligible for the concession discount?
Concession rates apply to all full-time students, UQ Alumni, UQ Sport Life Members, UQ Sport Loyalty Pass Holders, seniors, pensioners and children 16 years and under.
Can I enrol over the phone?
The Lifestyle Program does not enrol participants without taking payment at the time of enrolment. If you would like to enrol over the phone, you will have to be prepared with your Credit Card so payment can be transferred at the time of enrolment.
For the Participants
What happens if I miss a class?
Refunds or transfers will only be considered in extenuating circumstances. Individual situations will be considered by the Program Coordinator, with the provision of necessary documentation. Essentially it is up to the participant to attend all classes set within the course schedule.
If the course I select offers a freebie* when I enrol, when do I get it?
If you receive an included item within your enrolment it will be given to you at the first class of the course.
What do I need to bring for my course?

What happens if the weather is bad for outdoor courses?
In the event of bad weather alternative arrangements will be made. If it's possible to do so, meet at the standard course location and follow the instructor to a new venue. Alternatively, if its not possible to meet at the course location, head to the UQ Sport & Fitness Centre to meet your instructor.
Do I need dance shoes for the dance courses?
Dance shoes are not necessary for Lifestyle Program dance courses, however smooth soled shoes will help.
Do I need my own yoga/Pilates mat for the holistic health courses?
All mats and equipment will be provided for all holistic health courses.
