Feldenkrais Method

Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method teaches movement at its finest. This method of awareness through movement is based on biomechanics and self awareness. It is designed to improve movement, to release and relieve back pain, and to enhance movement in areas such as sport, dance, posture, walking and playing music. The lessons are easy and gentle, and aim to support the development of grace and efficiency in any chosen activity. Those who complete this course will finish with a greater appreciation of the art of movement.

How does the Feldenkrais Method course run?

Each week you will be guided through a themed lesson such as aligning the spine, freeing the neck and shoulders, generating power effortlessly and more. An added benefit is one of general wellbeing and stress release. The classes are based on the Feldenkrais method of movement developed in the 1940’s by Moshe Feldenkrais, a mechanical engineer, physicist, and the first martial arts master in the West. This course is recognised by health funds.

Feldenkrais Method - Bones for Life

You too can have strong bones for life. The use of safe, non-jarring, weight-bearing movements with a well aligned skeleton can improve bone density, strength and resilience. Gentle, springy exercises stimulate bone strength and build support for dynamic movement. Based on the Feldenkrais Method, Bones For Life training is designed to safely support the transmission of force directly through the skeletal structure to generate and maintain bone health.

How does the Feldenkrais Method Bones for Life course run?

Each session offers safe, weight-bearing challenges to build healthy bones, so that people who are limited in movement or vulnerable to injury or pain can participate. Bones for Life classes offer safe, non-jarring, gentle motions to stimulate bone health, improve skeletal alignment and posture, and improve balance.
