Vanessa McArthur-Williams - NEW in 2012

Vanessa is 19 years old, and started dancing at 3 years of age.  She is a professional dance teacher, instructing at well renowned studios such as Ikin Dance on the Gold Coast and Fresh Elements Dance Studio in Brisbane. She has been trained in all styles, Ballet, Modern Jazz, Tap, Cabaret, Burlesque, Hip Hop, Contemporary and has completed her Theatrical Grades in the CSTD syllabus.

In June of 2011 she decided to take her training to the next level, and travel to Los Angeles to participate in the well renowned Summer Intensive Program at Millennium Dance Complex, North Hollywood. This consisted of about 8 hours of dancing a day for 5 weeks. She trained with choreographers and dancers who have worked behind the scenes with the likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears, MIchael Jackson, Justin Beiber and many more.

Her trip to L.A also introduced her to the new dance style 'Pumps' which is incredibly popular in the US. She learnt this dance style from Jersey Maniscalo (Pussycat Doll dancer) and Shirlene Quigley (dancer for Beyonce), and quickly embraced this type of dance. The style can be described as Modern Burlesque. Hip hop, commercial pop in high heels. This style was non existent in Australia until she brought the style over from LA. It is about being fit, strong, and being really confident! She has since opened her own business called 'Pumps n' Boots' and runs popular workshops at various studios. The levels can range from  Beginner to Advanced. In beginner classes the focus is on walks and the finer touches of the style, while in Advance classes the focus is more on intense fitness and choreography.

Nadiah Idris- NEW in 2012

Nadiah is a Brisbane based professional dancer and teacher who loves sharing her passion for dance with others.  When she dances she is bursting with energy, loud, wild exciting and fun.  After discovering The JungleBody and getting to know what they're all about, Nadiah felt that The Jungle Body cleverly fused both her passions, dance and fitness, in one class.  This led her to acquire her KONGA certification and is Brisbane's first certified instructor to spread the KONGA craze. Besides her strong connection with dance, Nadiah has always been passionate about fitness, health and wellbeing from both the physical and internal body aspect.  She is a strong believer in balance, both the physical and internal body support which rely on one another equally and cannot efficiently improve without each other.

Nadiah's career highlights include backup dancing for Kanye West at Splendour in the Grass 2011, performing at the Island Vibes Festival 2011 and Woodford Fold Festival 2011/12, performing with Indigenous Hip Hop Projects at Share the Spirit Festival 2012, co-choreographing and making an appearance as the lead dancer in Enoch's music video clip "If You Like to Party", performing as a principal dancer in the stage production of Grease at QPAC, starring as an extra on Steven Spielberg's TV series "Terra Nova" and performaning and conducting dance workshops at Australia Zoo for Bindi Irwin's 13th Birthday Celebration.

From that time, Cecily practiced yoga and with the small insight she had into yoga teachings, was able to live a holistic and healthy approach to life. After leaving school and starting her own business, Cecily continued to study and completed her Bachelor Degree in Behavioral Science and started her Masters. Cecily's first yoga teacher was a 70 year old woman who would say "the body you have before you are 40 is the one you are given, the body you have after 40 is the one you have made yoursel"’. Cecily's yoga teachings have helped her throughout her life with both personal and business goals. During the past five years, Cecily has taught yoga all over Brisbane and completed her level 2 certification. What rewards Cecily the most is to see people being able to transform themselves through yoga and finding healing, wellbeing and inner strength. Cecily believes the single moment of truth of yoga is the science of discovering who we are.

Anita Bromley (Bluedog Photography)

Having an interest in photography at a young age saw Anita borrowing her father’s SLR to snap away on B&W film only to have to wait over a week and hand out a substantial amount of money just to see if the images turned out. It’s no surprise once the digital revolution began and DSLR’s became affordable she picked up the camera again. Loving the freedom to play with the camera with immediate results she is continually striving for that ‘perfect’ shot. Attending her first Photography Workshop with Bluedog as a student back in 2008 changed the way Anita viewed her own photography and with the workshops continually motivating her she quickly became a self confessed ‘Bluedog Workshop addict”! In late 2009 Anita was invited to join the Bluedog team as a Tutor and hasn’t looked back. “I love seeing those light bulb moments when what we are teaching ‘clicks’. It’s extremely rewarding." Anita believes all photos should convey an emotion to others even if they are not related to the subject in the photo. Her main passion is low light/night photography, however she is happy simply to have the camera in her hands and the opportunity to click away.
