Photography Workshop

Are you confused by all those buttons and dials on your camera?  Struggling to interpret the jargon of your camera manual?

Introductory week-day workshop - get to know your camera

photography

The two-day photography workshop will teach you how to take outstanding images with your ‘Point and Shoot’ or ‘DSLR’ Camera. Learn important rules of composition, what ISO means and how it works with your shutter speed and aperture. A jargon free workshop presented by Bluedog Photography Professional Photographers. Whether you’ve just purchased a new camera or want to learn more about the camera you currently have, this workshop will have you taking the photos you’ve always wanted to be able to take. You’ll even receive a copy of the Bluedog Photography Bible and a full set of notes, back-up critique and Bluedog rewards vouchers.

Full-day weekend workshop

The full-day Beginner Photography Workshop is a comprehensive course that aims to get you off ‘AUTO’, make you a creative photographer and start to understand the ‘fundamentals of photography’ - shutter speed, aperture and ISO, how they interact together and how and when to change each of these settings on your own camera. Whether you own a ‘point and shoot’ or a ‘DSLR’ camera, all your questions will be answered by Bluedog Professional Photography Tutors in a fun, friendly, jargon free manner. By lunchtime you’ll be freezing droplets of water in mid air and by the end of the day you’ll have the skills to set your camera’s dials for landscapes, portraits, using flash in daylight, night photography and more. In this workshop you’ll also learn about camera care and maintenance, composition, focus points, depth of field, file formats and how to store your digital files.

The Intermediate Photography Workshop is about taking your art further and getting it right in camera! We explore: exposure compensation - get those whites white and blacks black, how to use a grey card, learn to read your histogram, white balance and what does a colour checker actually do, the varied uses of a polariser, what is the basis for colour management and does it matter, flash basics including balancing on camera with natural light, use of wireless triggers, diffusers and more.

All participants will be entered into our monthly draw - a chance to win a copy of ‘Out around the Bulloo’, a hard cover pictorial of outback Queensland.
